This is Gemma, Your Fierce Financial Life Coach

You know how sometimes cool stuff happens and you look back and wonder how? Those times when fate interrupts and creates unexpected magic? Welcoming Gemma to our team as the Head of Coaching and Community is one of those moments.

The Backstory

Trenna (our CEO) was on the tarmac in Adelaide waiting to take off for the Sunshine Coast when she saw Gemma ‘talking finance’ on Instagram (where else?!). And she loved what she saw. A flurry of DMs followed and the next thing we knew, they were talking up a storm at Coolum Beach. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Fast forward to today and we’re shouting hoo-bloody-ray because Gemma is officially the newest member of our small but passionate team.

Drumroll please! Introducing our Head of Coaching and Community, Gemma Mitchell…

Gemma loves talking money and is passionate about having an impact on people’s financial lives. She’s the ultimate finance nerd who loves helping women to trade up from money fears to financial confidence. Pragmatic and determined, Gemma is a seasoned financial adviser with 15 years in the banking and finance industry, including 5 years at QSuper – an experience she loved.

Now, after all that time in the industry, you might be thinking Gemma is a mad woman. Out in the ‘wild’ that might be true! But here at Super Fierce we’re proud to say that’s the norm. We’re a bunch of finance crazies and Gemma fits in perfectly.

What is Gemma most passionate about? Helping women to dream big and build a life they love. And now she’s sharing that passion as our fierce financial coach and on-the-road commentator.

A country girl at heart (she’s from Mount Gambier in SA), Gemma knows the fastest route from dream to reality is a solid plan (she’s been known to have a list to manage all her lists!). But she also knows flexibility and fun are vital if it’s going to stick. She’s fluent in financial jargon and uniquely talented in translating it into what we like to call ‘real talk’ – language, ideas, goals and tips that make sense to real people. That’s why we knew immediately that Gemma was the perfect fit for us. The perfect person to step in to educate and enrich the lives of our gorgeous Super Fierce community. You’re going to love her!

Gemma makes it looks easy(ish), balancing her love of her career, family, travel, saving, cool sunnies and good handbags. A whiz at flipping houses, her awesome eye for design is matched only by her beady eye for spotting a great bargain – seriously, why pay full price? We’re definitely impressed at how well she balances kids, work and a chilled glass of Pinot Gris even when she’s camping rough. Serious kudos!

Gemma Mitchell - Super Fierce Financial Life Coach

Gemma’s big goal is to have an impact in finance, by inspiring women to take action from wherever they are on their journey. Determined to make sure Aussie women have the confidence to jump into the driver’s seat on the way to a bright financial future, Gemma’s testing that idea ‘in the wild.’ Travelling over our vast country in a campervan with her husband and 2 young kids, she’s sharing her money wins, fails and insights as she goes.

I watched Trenna’s pitch at Southern Angels yesterday and felt truly inspired. I love the concept of your company. I’ve just signed up for my free report. While I work in commerialisation, in my marriage I always took a backseat when it came to my own finances. I’m now separated and my financial settlement has gone through and I have been taking charge of my own finances for the past year. Funnily I’m in a much better financial position now than when I was married! I know many other professional women like me-in high paying management positions, yet not in control of personal finances. Trenna mentioned a number of blogs/groups for women who want to become more financially savvy. Could you please recommend some resources if possible? I need help to work out where to put money-super, mortgage, savings etc. I don’t want o go to a financial adviser I don’t know. I started my own company 2 years ago and had some bad experiences with accountants until I found the right one for example. Any advice on where I can go to find more help would be so appreciated. I look forward to seeing your business grow to include many more services! Thank you :)
